Tom Seymour, Forager & Presenter

Picture
Tom digs for cattail spring shoots to add to his stir fry.
Tom forages for much of his food. Although he plants a garden and harvests herbs, tomatoes, and other common vegetables, his favorite meals are "wilds."
Tom conducts wild plant seminars throughout mid-coast, central and parts of northern Maine for individuals, groups, and organizations both public and non-profit. These consist of both narrated digital slide shows with question-and-answer sessions. Tom leads field trips to private and public lands where he identifies and explains the uses and properties of local wild plants.
These field trips begin in spring, usually late April or early May and conclude in September. Times vary, but most trips require from one to two hours. Tom also offers a combination of slide shows and field trips for his seminars.
